Orange County Trial Courts
Indiana's county trial-court model gives Orange County a Circuit Court and a Superior Court. The Circuit Court is the constitutionally created trial court in each Indiana county. Superior Courts are statutory trial courts created to add local capacity. Orange County does not have Texas-style district courts, county courts at law, or justice of the peace courts. Orange County Case Movement

Federal District Court Distinction
Federal district court is different from a county trial court. Orange County, Indiana is in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Indiana, New Albany Division. Orange County Federal Division
The federal statute placing Orange County in the New Albany Division is useful only for federal venue. It does not create a county district court. It also does not move Orange County criminal prosecutions, divorces, traffic tickets, probate estates, or small claims into federal court. Those records remain in the Indiana local trial-court structure unless a separate federal claim or charge exists.
